First Devlog! - December

Good morning, good evening and good afternoon!

It's been a month since we started our journey through the lands of Southern Tihua, so we've decided to share a devlog, to talk about the Past, Present and Future.

Past

We’re thrilled to share that our release went smoothly, surpassing our expectations with over 1,000 downloads across all platforms! Considering the brief length of the prologue, this milestone was a welcome surprise.

We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who took the time to download and play through our prologue, and especially those that shared their thoughts on the forum, your support means the world to us and motivates us to keep delivering even more.

That being said, we were hoping to see a few more comments on Itch.io. While we’ve had plenty of downloads and views on this here platform, feedback from Itch.io users has been a bit sparse so far. Hopefully, as the game grows and we add more content, we’ll hear more from you.

Present

As of now, we’re hard at work on the first chapter. In this installment, our adventurers will journey back to Karagua—an ancient wondrous capital, now relegated to a beacon of violence and treachery, teeming with cretins, bandits, thieves, and murderers. This perilous metropolis serves as the setting for all of Chapter I, and it promises to test your courage and cunning at every turn.

And don’t you worry—you’ll find plenty of excitement (and booty!) waiting for those brave enough to tread its dangerous streets. We've heard the feedback ;)

On that note, we’ve been developing a system for all the spicy interactions with the main girls—the camping system. The idea is that, at key moments during the story, you’ll be drawn into a camping scene.

During these scenes, you’ll have the chance to engage in meaningful conversations with each of the main girls, covering various topics. These interactions will build their disposition towards you, influencing how they view you over time. And if their disposition with you is high enough, you’ll have the opportunity to engage in a little “recreation"...

Future

The game has 4 Chapters planned in total, each having around 2-3 acts. Each act is supposed to be slightly the same size as the prologue. While I initially considered releasing the game chapter by chapter, this approach doesn’t seem viable upon closer evaluation. Completing an entire chapter would take approximately three months, which feels like too long of a gap between updates.

Since the game is free, there’s no harm done if we release each act as it’s completed. This way, we can provide semi-monthly updates, keeping the momentum going, generating more engagement, and giving us more opportunities to reach a wider audience.

Our next act should be coming out in January, so stay tuned. And make sure you get plenty of sleep, or else...

Someone might just snatch you...

Have had my eye on the game for a little while now, hadn't commented since I wanted to wait it out to see a bit more of your vision before committing. Has more to do with my gluttonous tendencies when it comes to media I suppose, but based on what I've read here I'm looking forward to your next update, might dip my toes in then and see what you've got cooking. Best of luck to y'all, the concept and artwork are extremely promising so far, love the choice to use the Goblin Slayer look for the goblins shown in the preview images.
